How To RegisterThe High Country Antique Power Club now has it’s own on-line forum/discussion board!!! For those of you who are computer savvy, you already know what this is and what a valuable communication tool it can be. For those of you who have never used one before – I think you will be pleasantly surprised!! Our forum has places to post classifieds (parts wanted, for sale etc.), discuss restoration issues, talk about the upcoming annual show and other club events, read announcement from your executive, send private messages, post information about other tractor shows and much more!
To access the forum, click the red box on the main page titled “FORUM”. A window will open with the forum. The first thing you’ll need to do is register. At the top of the page is a link titled “Join! (free)”.
A “Registration Agreement Terms” screen will come up. At the bottom in barely visible white lettering is a line saying “I Agree to these terms and am over or exactly 13 years of age”. Click on that. A new screen will come up.
You will need a user name. This can be your own name or just a name you make up. i.e. paula, paulashirley, casetractorman, johndeeredude, farmboy, pshirley. It depends on whether you want people to know who you are when you write things on the board. It is probably easier to just use your real name. No spaces. Letters or numbers only. Then you’ll put in your email address and a password you won’t forget. Everything on the “Profile Information” is optional. Everyone will be able to see what you type here.. The “Preferences” are set to a default which you do not need to change unless you wish others to see your email address. Then you can change the first option from “NO” to “YES”. To prevent getting unwanted emails, I do NOT suggest doing this. Press “SUBMIT”.
The program will then send an email to your inbox. The email will have a link (an underlined line of text). Click on the link and it will open a new copy of the forum saying that your account has been activated. Now you just need to log in. That is just below the “Join!” where you started the whole process. Click on “Log in” and enter your username and password. You’ll have to do this every time.
Now you are registered. But if you are a member of our club, you get to have access to a couple areas of our forum that the general public doesn’t. So, I need you to call me, email me (tasharoberts541@hotmail.com) or send me a private message through the forum (my username is paula) to tell me that you’ve joined and are a paid member of the club. I will then unlock your username so you can have access to the “Members Only” sections. Keep in mind that the general public can read (not post or respond to) anything you write in areas other than the “Members Only” sections – even if they aren’t registered or a club member - so keep anything confidential in “Members Only” areas.
Now you can play in the Forum! Explore! Post messages! Reply to messages! Send private messages! Start a poll asking what people think! Have fun! At this time you cannot get back into the main website from the forum. You will have to open a new window and retype the website address.
